Time magazine wonders if there is a return to the sacrament of confession. Polls show only a small percentage of Catholic attend the sacrament.  Washington Archbishop Donald Wuerl isn't leading the diocese based on polling - he is keeping the light on and inviting Catholics to receive forgiveness.

Archbishop Gomez: journalists can’t tell America’s story without religion
In an address to the annual conference of the Religion Newswriters' Association, Archbishop José Gomez of the Archdiocese of San Antonio exhorted journalists to pursue truth, clarity, and understanding among peoples.  Citing the manifestations of religion ranging from terrorism to domestic policy activism, he declared "You have a great responsibility at this moment in history. Religion intersects with all the great issues of our day."

Catholic Georgetown U. to fund student internships at abortion agencies
The oldest Catholic university in the nation has changed its policy to permit grants to law students who intern with abortion agencies, such as Planned Parenthood.
