Bella for Life Project Recruits New ‘Lifeguards’ The Catholic Association uses the movie Bella as an opportunity to recruit the next generation of ‘lifeguards’ for local pregnancy centers Washington, DC (TCA) 9 November 2007 –The Catholic Association is distributing flyers to those who attend the movie Bella in order to recruit the next generation of lifeguards for local pregnancy centers. “The main actor in Bella reaches out to a woman in a troubled pregnancy and becomes a ‘lifeguard’. This is the subtle but very powerful message of life, hope and the power we all have to change people's lives. Bella for Life will be trying to build a new army of lifeguards for our world.” said Michael Hernon, president of The Catholic Association. The flyers remind viewers that one person can make a difference and asks if they would support mothers in troubled pregnancies. By visiting www.BellaforLife.org individuals can be connected with a local crisis pregnancy center in need of volunteers. Within the first hour of the Bellaforlife.org website launch over 24 individuals volunteered to be lifeguards. Pregnancy Centers and pro-life groups will see the ripple effects of this effort in the months ahead. Groups can download flyers and pass them out to those exiting the movie to encourage people to get involved in saving lives. Volunteers will be handing out flyers this weekend showings of Bella.
